Who Am I?

For 15 years, I struggled with panic attacks. They became increasingly intense, and I regularly found myself fainting on the floor. The fear of experiencing another attack severely limited my life—simple things like grocery shopping or taking the train became torturous. I desperately searched for solutions to manage these challenges.

But everything changed the day I realized that food intolerances were the triggers for my long-lasting suffering. The previously unrecognized histamine intolerance and gluten sensitivity (referred to as "HiGlu") were the root causes of my panic attacks. It was a real "Aha" moment.

Looking back on my medical history, I now realize that I likely had histamine intolerance and gluten sensitivity for at least 30 years. There were finally answers to my mysterious asthma attacks, numerous allergies without a clear diagnosis, severe stomach cramps, and all the doctor visits that had accompanied my life. Yet, histamine intolerance and gluten sensitivity had never been recognized.

I am:

  • Sara, 48 years old, living in Switzerland, and a proud mother of a daughter.
  • A graduate architect, speaker, former managing director of a coaching company, and long-time Senior Business Risk Manager.

In addition, I am:

  • Highly sensitive (HSP)
  • A passionate lover of the sea and sun
  • An artist (www.sh-galerie.ch)
  • A visionary

I began adjusting my diet to be low in histamine and gluten-free. My food choices became very limited, and I had to avoid many foods. This change was not easy, and I was frustrated by the lack of information and recipes for my dual diagnosis. But I didn’t give up and faced the challenge of making a significant dietary change to avoid panic attacks.

I share my personal journey openly and honestly to demonstrate that panic attacks don't always stem solely from psychological causes. Unrecognized food intolerances can also play a crucial role. My story is meant to inspire you and help you find shortcuts on your own path.

What is HiGluTrigger?

I created HiGluTrigger to offer people with panic attacks new possible paths. A life without panic attacks, free from fear.
